Adult Road & Track Racing with the International Christian Cycling Club

The International Christian Cycling Club (IC3) is always open for riders to join the adult race team. IC3 is currently looking for new adults who want to race (time trials, criteriums, road races, track racing and/or cyclocross) in 2011.

The IC3 adult race team mission is:

  • To unite Christian cyclists for a worldwide testimony in lifestyle, training, and sportsmanship.
  • To expose each cyclist we encounter to the love and peace of Jesus Christ, so they may want to have a relationship with Him.
  • To have fun.
  • To race hard.
  • To support worthy causes.

We support cycling not just through competition, but additionally:

  • By arranging, publishing and leading group rides open to both IC3 members and non IC3 members.
  • Through active participation and support of the American Cycling Association (ACA) and its efforts.
  • Charitable contributions to organizations like Recycle Bicycles.

We take training/racing seriously.  Individual and team results are important, but also is having a good time and fellowship.  It is understood that one needs to have balance in their life.  Because of this understanding IC3 expectations for time commitment are reasonable.  It is hoped that racing will add to the balance in your life.  If you elect to participate in the Racers Assistance Program (RAP) the time commitment is higher than if you were not participating in this program.  We request that members make every effort to participate in several races a year.  If you elect to participate in the RAP then there is a minimum number races that you must commit to.

The basic commitment is:

  • To train regularly with the team (ideally including Fall/Winter).
  • To attend team club meetings.
  • To attend adult race team meetings.
  • To help with the events that IC3 puts on such as the “Wheels of Thunder” bicycle race, the end of series Bar-B-Que at the Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trail and the “On the Cross” cyclocross race.

In addition IC3 as a club asks that as able you try to participate in community support oriented events and charitable events.

IC3 is a close-knit group of cycling enthusiasts based in the front range of Colorado who share a like minded belief.  IC3 is recognized in the Colorado cycling community for our laid-back culture, support of “family” racing (juniors and adults are supported), supporting the bicycle riding community with free food at our events and the promotion of the historic Wheels of Thunder bicycle race.

Our team competes all across the state, region and country, providing a tremendous amount of exposure for our sponsors.  With Colorado spoke members located up and down the Rocky Mountain front range and other spokes throughout the US (and World), the IC3 adult race team consists women and men from a wide range of racing categories, ages, and ability levels.  The team core is composed of individuals that recognize that bike racing is only part of a balanced existence.  Most members have jobs and families.

We have a great group of highly motivated and very competitive road racers planning the 2011 season.  Our team targets the ACA “road races”.  We will be hosting the 17th annual Wheels of Thunder this year.

Thank you for visiting our virtual home.   If you are looking for a great team atmosphere with a dedicated and dependable group of racers contact Rich Beutner.
